99th Reading joins the 2015 Huge Earley Litter Pick

The Huge Earley Litter Pick (HELP) is a joint initiative between Earley Town Council and the Earley Environmental Group.
Our Scout Group has helped this community tidy-up for many years, and so on 22 March our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts joined other local volunteers to make our area look more attractive and safer for local wildlife.
Despite clashing with the Reading Half Marathon and an 11-mile hike being undertaken by the Scouts, we had a good turn-out spread across the morning and afternoon sessions.
Supported by the Beavers and Scouts who weren’t involved in the Reading Half or the hike, the Cubs had the largest turnout with 17 Cubs attending – over half the Pack. Maybe the prospect of badges to be earned spurred them on a bit…
We were also accompanied by the Mayor of Earley Councillor Linda Chambers (wearing the chain) and Grahame Hawker (kneeling) the Senior Park Ranger with the Council.
