Our Cubs were privileged to have a visit by local artist and art teacher Richard Ennis – also one of our Cub’s dad – to celebrate Vincent van Gough’s 162nd birthday. We sang Happy Birthday, but sadly there was no cake and 162 candles might have been a fire hazard anyway.
Richard gave the Cubs an introduction to drawing, then showed us how to create a face in crayon which the Cubs then followed with their own interpretations.
It was a very engaging evening – one of the Cubs told us that he definitely wants to be an artist when he is older.
A very enjoyable evening, and thanks to Richard for giving his time and talent to the Cubs.
